Man, it has been a while since I have had a chance to write. Work has kept me pretty busy lately...well no let me re-phrase that...work has kept me VERY BUSY lately.
Today I had the day off, so I slept in!!! At college I sleep in much more than I do now, for at home I not only have work, but I have a four legged alarm clock called miss Mia Mae. There is no way you can start the morning in a bad mood when you get woken up by your face being lapped by a puppy, who is so excited to see you that she is in a total body wag. After Mia slithers in and attacks my face with kisses, she curls up beside me and sleeps until I decide to get up. She is such a good little girl!
After getting myself together, I headed to Lincoln with one of my friends. First we went to the Lost River. It was the day before the 4th of July so the place was packed. I decided to dodge the crowd and check out one of the side trails in the national forest. As we entered the trail there was a sign saying "Advanced Hikers Only." My friend and I shrugged it off due to the conclusion I came up with of, well if we can walk and run I guess that we can call ourselves advanced hikers, plus they probably put up those signs for the out of stators who had never really hiked before (yah know, for liability reasons). Also, my friend is going to be leaving soon for the Marines so, I mean, if he couldn't climb this then he would have problems! haha At first my hypothesis was correct, but as we walked further into the forest I was quickly mistaken. Instead of saying "Advanced Hikers Only" the sign should have said, "advanced rock climbers only!" There was hardly "hiking" involved!... May I also mention I was wearing Teva flip-flops and my friend was wearing jeans and a dress shirt! haha It really sounds like an SNL skit, doesn't it!
Any who, being the person that I am, once I start something and am posed a challenge, I need to succeed and finish it. So we "hiked" on. I told my friend it was all a plot to get him ready for boot camp...I bet that is the last time he will let me decide what we do. I almost had a fit when we got to the top because there wasn't a view. I mean who "hikes" all that way to see more trees!!! I saw plenty of those on the way up! haha After searching, I finally found my view and we headed back down. When we got to the bottom I was so proud of myself because I proved the lady wrong who said, when she was on her way down, "you might not make it in those flip flops." I not only made it up and down in my flip-flops, but I also made it down in one piece. It reassured her that they weren't just flip-flops, they were Teva's! Maybe I should be their poster child. So in addition to my list of accomplishments, right next to the High School Degree, will be: "hiked" up Kinsman Notch in Teva flip flops!
After re-energizing with getting something to eat, we went and played mini golf. For some reason boys think that because they are males they are automatically better at mini golf, so again I was posed with a challenge. On the second hole I got a hole in one...don't tell me how I did it, because I couldn't see where the hole was (it was one of those around the corner, in a cave deals). To make a long story short, the score remained tied till the last hole, where I won by one stroke. YEAH BABY!!! haha
Tomorrow is the 4th. Its back to work for me, but don't you worry....there will still be some celebrating!

Red Sox Game

This weekend I took a road trip to my roommates house in Tewksbury, MA. Can I just say I hate driving in Massachusetts!!!!! Holy crazy drivers batman! My friend Chelsea rode down with me. It was quite the adventure, to say the least.
We got lost. Yet it was FULLY map quest's fault! 0.1 miles to River Rd. my a**!!! Anyways, Chelsea and I drove around for quite a while "touring" Massachusetts. We followed map quest's directions precisely, yet we soon found them to be inaccurate. I had the great idea of turning around and getting back on the interstate, so we did. We refused to fold and call my roommate for directions. We were determined to find her house on our own! I tried to bust out my super tracking skills, but finally gave in when we started to not know what direction we came in. Come to find out, we had turned around about two roads up from where we were supposed to be going. In hearing this, Chelsea and I now didn't feel as disappointed in ourselves, for now we could blame our folding on the misjudgment of map quest.
After settling in at my roommate’s home, we all jumped in the car again and went and got manicures and pedicures. For anyone who knows me, they know that I am not a "girly" girl. I am the sporty, jock girl who takes more pride in her scars than her nails! My roommate was overly excited that I was getting my nails done, due to the fact that I have never had them done professionally. Note: My roommate is much more girly than I am. Her favorite color is pink; her favorite place to go is the mall, ect. I got a French manicure and pedicure. Any color would be too over the top for me, so "natural" is the key.
That night we picked up some movies. I insisted that we get the movie Monty Python, The Meaning of Life. Both my roommate and Chelsea had not seen it before, so I felt the need to educate them on some classic, quality comedy! We also ended up getting The Lake House, which I loved!!!! Later that night, I dared Chelsea to jump into the pool (the water was 42), in which she proceeded to do.

On Saturday we went to the Red Sox game against the LA Angels. It was AMAZING!!!!! This was the first time I had gone to a game at Fenway. We sat in center field, directly behind Coco Crisp (center field player). My man, Ortiz, hit a home run into our section, YEAH!!!! I have always wanted to be at a game when Ortiz hit a homerun. He is my favorite player. PAPI is the man! The Sox won, 8-0! I have to proudly mention that our section started the only successful wave of the game! We so rock at our wave skills!
After the game we went to my roommate's boyfriend's house and rode around on the motorized cooler. Yes, I did say motorized cooler. It gets up to speeds of almost 20mph, SICK!!! It is the ultimate tailgating commodity!
Today, we drove back to the reality of college life. The weather is terrible, making me wonder why I live in New England. haha jk It is hard to believe that my first year is almost over. People will be calling me Dr. in no time!
